Avatar 2 Release Date
Exactly when is Avatar 2 going to be seen in cineplexes theatres multiplexes around the world?
Currently, James Cameron plans to have Avatar 2 completed for a release date in theatres cineplexes in December 2016.
In his entire movie directing career, James Cameron has made only one sequel movie to his own original film ideas. In 1984, the Terminator movie was released in cinemas. This film was written and directed by James Cameron. However, the official sequel to the Terminator 1 didn't happen quickly.
After the success of the Terminator, James Cameron chose to direct Aliens (a sequel to the 1979 Ridley Scott classic Alien movie) and The Abyss before finally working on Terminator 2 Judgment Day. After many years, Terminator 2 hit theaters worldwide in Summer 1991. So this means 7 (seven) years elapsed between the Terminator in 1984 and the Terminator 2 in 1991.
Similar to the Terminator movies, Avatar won't be released commercially until 7 years after the first Avatar film was in theaters. James Cameron believes this extended time in between Avatar movies will greatly increase the overall quality of Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 because visual computer animated 3D special effects have dramatically improved since December 2009 when the original Avatar film completely shattered box office records around the planet in movie venues.
